Speaker: Dipika Kalra
Designation: Editor
Dipika is a Mumbai-based offline editor working in the Hindi film industry, with experience across feature films, web series, and advertising. A postgraduate from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), she has worked closely with directors, producers, and creative teams to shape narrative, pacing, and performance through the editing process.
Her work spans both long-form storytelling and fast-paced commercial projects, like Udaan, Lootera, Ram Prasad Ki Terhvi, Sherni, giving her a versatile perspective across different formats and audiences. With a strong instinct for story structure, rhythm, and emotional continuity, she approaches editing as a key stage where a film’s narrative truly takes shape. Through her work, she focuses on crafting edits that enhance clarity, performance, and storytelling impact. In this workshop, she shares practical insights into the craft of offline editing and the editor’s creative role in contemporary film and digital storytelling.
In this session, she will share how editors read scripts, approach rushes, shape rhythm, and help bring clarity to a story during post-production.
