| Bio | Originally an IT Engineering graduate, I bring over a decade of experience across corporate and startup environments, but my real journey began in the glow of the silver screen during my college years. What started as a solitary pastime of watching films soon grew into an enduring passion for storytelling. While working full-time, I began exploring filmmaking through weekend workshops and short courses, until I finally decided to take the plunge. In 2020, I pursued a one-year Diploma in Filmmaking from Whistling Woods International, where I directed my first student short film Burger , the story of a young boy from the slums whose craving for a burger turns into a quest for dignity. The film was later featured at the DYTIATKO Children’s Film Festival. To strengthen my writing foundation, I went on to specialize in Series Writing at Whistling Woods, where I developed my first original series concept, The Memsahibs’ Club , a period drama about the women of the British Raj who, beyond gossip and grandeur, influenced reform and politics behind closed doors. More recently, I completed an advanced specialisation in Cinematography and Direction from FACE Academy, enabling me to translate my vision on screen with a hands-on understanding of the craft. My latest short film, MayaNagari, tells the story of a single mother and municipal sweeper who uncovers illegal hospital waste dumping and must choose between doing what’s right and protecting her daughter’s future. The film is currently in post-production, aiming for a strong festival run in 2026. As a storyteller, I’m drawn to narratives told from a woman’s perspective and to invisible professions : portraits of unsung jobs that keep our cities alive yet remain unseen. I’m currently developing my debut feature project, The Pink Chariot, which follows Rani, a housewife from Mumbai’s slums, who takes the wheel to save her husband’s rickshaw fleet after his breakdown, defying a corrupt stand leader and sparking a movement for women’s safety and self-reliance. |
