Prachi Hota is a director and producer with a body of work that spans both fiction and documentary filmmaking. A graduate of the London Film School, she has worked across the UK, Italy, France, India, and the Czech Republic, crafting visually compelling and narratively rich films that explore diverse themes.

Her latest documentary, Past Imperfect, was screened at the British Film Institute (BFI) and nominated at the Begin Film Festival in Los Angeles. She is also developing a new documentary that was among the first projects selected for the NFDC Documentary Co-Production Market. Alongside her non-fiction work, Prachi has directed and produced fiction films that reflect her strong command over storytelling, cinematic language, and character-driven narratives.

She has also produced commercials for British startups, managed complex international shoots, and collaborated with filmmakers across Europe and India. With expertise in both fiction and non-fiction, she seamlessly blends journalistic depth with cinematic storytelling.

Beyond directing and producing, Prachi is skilled in sound recording and sound design, ensuring that her films deliver both immersive visuals and high-quality audio. She has worked with Mobius Films in India, contributing to story development, scripting, and production management.

In addition to her filmmaking work, Prachi runs the YouTube channel “Aggressively Serious,” which explores the craft and commerce of cinema, diving deep into filmmaking techniques, industry trends, and market research.

Her experience extends to film festival management in association with the British Film Institute, and she brings a unique artistic sensibility from her background as a trained Odissi dancer.
