Hansal Mehta is a National Award-winning filmmaker with a career spanning over three decades. From a career rooted in Indian television to over 18 feature films and several acclaimed series, his work has consistently engaged with social and political realities through deeply human storytelling.
His films are distinguished by their understanding of characters and the worlds they inhabit, giving weight and intimacy to stories that matter. His directorial work includes Shahid (2013), Citylights (2014), Aligarh (2016), Omertà (2018), Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story (2020), Faraaz (2023), Scoop (2023), and the upcoming Gandhi series.
He won the National Award for Best Direction for Shahid, and has emerged as one of the defining voices of India’s streaming era with landmark works such as Scam 1992 and Scoop. Alongside his directorial projects, Hansal Mehta is also producing a diverse slate of theatrical films and series through his production banner.
